There are some things to be aware of before you upgrade your operating system to macOS 10.15.
Apple has released an early adopters version of macOS 10.15, which has changes that make some software and hardware not compatible with the new operating system. It is highly recommended you check with the software vendors of your DAW and plugins to see if they are compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina.
Some major brands, including Eventide and Native Instruments, have announced compatibility problems with this new operating system and are working hard to overcome the issues. Native Instruments announced their legacy products would not work with the new operating system in September 2019.
The official release of macOS 10.15 Catalina is due in October 2019. We can expect to see software companies starting to announce their full compatibility with the new operating system after the official release.
I highly recommend holding off upgrading to macOS 10.15 Catalina until you can confirm that all your plugins are compatible with the new operating system. If you upgrade your operating system prematurely, you may find some of your plugins and other software do not work after the upgrade.
